    • We didn't have a December CA meeting because December be cra-cra for everyone.
    • The fibers group growing and becoming a regular weekly meetup on Tuesdays.
    • We cleaned up the room and reorganized and purged a bunch as we went. The room is ever changing.
    • Leather interest is still growing and they purchased a few larger tools to enhance offerings.
    • Issues with the vinyl cutter and printer have come to attention although they aren't under CA they are in our room and it's being discussed - we are discussing several options and talking about if CA is going to take over the associated cost. I'm not willing to do this until a better system is in place. This is all TBD at a later time.
    • Bigger tool purchases for the month: Air brush compressor and hood (to be used only after class is taken).
    • David and I are hosting a dinner for all the CA teachers who have taught since October DMS funds wont be used.
    • Looking at purchasing (possibly tonight) a leather sewing machine found by Dan and David, fibers will be buying several things as well within the next few weeks to help the offerings of classes.
    • Nicole didn't do a good job of advertising the laser art show and the turnout was amazing but not enough to fill the walls. She pulled in DMS artists Val Curry and Steve Reeves to fill the walls. Some members donated 10X10 works for a semi-permanent collection at DMS. CA hopes to fill DMS with artwork from every show if the members are willing to allow that.
    • Art shows will be reduced to four shows next year. 10X10 and Makers Make being two of them - the other two are TBD but several things have been discussed.
    • I love the Christmas tree but I (Nicole Franczvai) would like to say I don't think a dick butt on top of the tree is the right thing to place so front and center on something that will be seen by so many people. It's a cute idea but I don't think the tour groups will understand the inside joke....I'm old and old fashioned. Am I allowed to have opinions here?

  • Electronics Robotics Committee
    • Inventoried our bench gear

      • The laptops have been imaged with the DMS standard Win8.1 image and placed out for general use. The new machines are Intel i5 Gen2, have 4GB RAM, and some have SSDs.
      • The desktops are available to committees upon reasonable request. Please submit a ticket to request one.
        • The vinyl cutter PC has already been upgraded to one of the donated machines.
        • The Science PC has already been upgraded to one of the donated machines.
      • The CAD/CAM PC has been transferred to be the Lasersaur PC.
    • Modified switch uplinks so there is more redundancy between the core and server switches.
    • File server replacement or upgrade is being planned. We will request funding from the board when we have solidified the plan.
      • The new/upgraded server will have expanded storage and increased network bandwidth (>1 Gbps). It will also have the capability to upload files to AWS for long-term backups.
    • One of the garage doors (the one with the ramp) is broken.
      • Will be requesting funding from BOD to fix and also install an electric opener.
      • The opener will be hooked up to the auxiliary access control system, so not everyone will have access (but will be granted upon reasonable request).
      • An RFID reader will be installed on the outside, but NOT the inside. Inside will have a regular push-button.
      • When the opener is installed, we will post on Talk. You can open a ticket to request RFID access.
