  • Financial Committee - Benjamin Groves
  • Busy month in accounting:
    • Immediately after processing June books in July, we transitioned from Quickbooks to Quickbooks Online
      • This will provide us a huge benefit to accessibility and timely reports
      • A major hurdle behind our old method (processing an entire month at a time) can be done in a more live fashion
      • This has incurred a large up front effort, specifically the manual handling 2.5 months worth of duplicate entries
        • Committees did not receive transaction statements for June - Please see Benjamin Groves if you wish for a copy to be made for your group
      • Quickbooks online has different rules for account structure and there are open questions on how we migrated (Credit Cards and PayPal)
      • July books should be processed as usual for the August Board of Directors Meeting, and we should be looking forward to the return of less overhead from there
    • We are working with an external accounting firm for handling of our 2014 taxes and an annual audit of our books
      • This is fortuitous as the external is reviewing our Quickbooks Online work, which will help resolve the above open questions
      • We filed for an additional tax extension, which gives us until September - Not a large concern as our tax effort is afoot
  • The verdict on the health of our General Fund is still open
    • Prepare for continued tight budget and limited spending
