Why Become A Member?
Becoming a member provides you with 24/7 access to our tools and workspace outside of public training, workshops, and classes. As a member you also have a voice in how the organization is run.
Your membership dues directly fund our non-profit mission and allow us to do even bigger things for our community.
Members are also allowed to hold events, use the space for meetings and even have guests over. Please note, guests must sign liability waivers and may not use tools. For more information please see the Guests section of our Rules & Policies.
The cost of membership is $50/month or $540/year (10% discount).
Dues are automatically recurring for the period you select (monthly or yearly).
Regular members are also able to add additional family members (from the same household) for $10/month or $120/year.
New Member Rate Increase 2019
Rates for new members increase effective 1/1/2019.
Existing members are “grandfathered” on the rate schedule that existed when they joined unless a lapse of 14 days occurs, at which time the current rate schedule will apply.
Join now and you will continue to receive the 2018 rates unless your membership lapses.
Rate Schedule Effective 1/1/2019:
- Regular membership: $60/mo with 10% discount for annual membership
- Family membership add-on: $15/mo with 10% discount for annual membership
- Starving hacker: $40/mo
Membership Rules & Expectations
All members are required to maintain a clean and safe environment at all times. We are an all volunteer organization, so please be kind to other members and return tools/materials to their proper places. Please see the Rules & Policies page for more information.
Accepted Payment Methods
Monthly memberships require recurring payments with either a credit card or PayPal account. Cash, check, and Bitcoin are only accepted for yearly memberships, and you will need to contact us to arrange payment (@).
Other Membership Types
Starving hacker ($35/month) – The starving hacker rate is only available for individuals who are students, unemployed, or retired. You will need to contact @ to see if you qualify. We also ask those on the starving hacker rate to take a little extra time to help the space to help offset the cost of the membership. This includes cleaning, organizing, maintaining tools, and teaching classes.
