Pecha Kucha Night Dallas Volume 4 was held as part of TEDxSMU’s Idea Week on Wednesday, Oct 13 at the Wyly Theater. Steve Rainwater of Dallas Makerspace was one of a dozen local presenters given six minutes and forty seconds each to get their ideas across the audience of more than 300. Steve talked about Dallas Makerspace, the first hackerspace in Dallas. He summarized the projects completed in our first year, and talked about why local hackerspaces are an important step in the process of making Dallas weird. The talk generated a lot of interest as well as a few mentions of our hackerspace in local media including D Magazine and Pegasus News. In addition to those two articles, you can read more about Pecha Kucha Night 4 in StealingKitty’s review in Dallas Art News, the Dallas Voice article, and in Steve’s blog. Photo by David Harris.
