  1. Election of leadership - Paul Wilson was unanimously elected to be the new SIG leader after previous SIG leader was removed by Creative Arts Committee vote. No against. No abstain.
  2. Course of Action for old Epson - The old Epson wide format printers currently in DMS offsite storage will be decommissioned effective immediately and removed from DMS property/storage facilities pending board/CA chair approval for such action. SIG determined that since Epson printers were a donation anyway and resell value due to condition was questionable it was not fiscally prudent to continue keeping them in DMS offsite. Some confusion exists whether selling them as previously proposed was a requirement or a suggestion. SIG member investigate possible value in parting out the printers and selling components with any disassembly to be done at another location other than DMS.
  3. Decision regarding possible donation of HP 24" and HP 44" printers - Both printers require new cartridges and ink. 24" printer requires new print head. Space member Rich has both printers in working order. Ink, cartridges, cleaning supplies, preliminary consumables, and printer head will be approximately $600. Paul Wilson will investigate software programs and cost to more effectively track user consumption and prevent shrink. Discussions will be had with Infrastructure and Creative Arts about getting a dedicated computer station for the wide format printers as well as a more firm time table on when Digital Arts room will be ready. SIG voted unanimously to request $600 from Creative Arts to get preliminary consumables and print head for donated printers ($400 was previously allocated for purchase of a printer then rescinded due to printer no longer being in stock)
  4. Discussion of long term plans to acquire photo editing software for wide format work station (Photoshop/Lightroom) and eventually to upgrade to wide format printer with capability to do a wider variety of media
  5. Preliminary discussion of which consumables to stock and procedures for users who are doing DMS business with the wide format printers pending Creative Arts acceptance of SIG recommendations.
  6. Amanda Miller will reach out to Dye Sub SIG and Creative Arts chair to determine floor-plan for Digital Arts to accommodate printers. Preliminary measurements indicate that there should be room for everyone.
