Laser Meeting Notes July 07, 2019
- New Honorarium Split
- new Honorarium rules shared with committee
- Long Term Plan/ Move Ideas
- keep Nova 63s (new and old) - only viable option
- ditch Nova 35s, replace with better/ American-made machines for the smaller machines
- should cost less long term - currently buying new laser every 2-3 years
- new better machines should last 5 machines
- nothing to vote on - no decisions to make until we have new space
- large machines are sufficient for large jobs, small machines are abused - we need better
- eventually RFID scan will be necessary to run the machine (lockout)
- BYO Lens Tube
- discuss board agenda item ($2000 cost)
- Motion:laser buy 20 assorted lenses/tubes to be sold to makers at a reasonable markup - no more than 25%
- Holiday classes - July is when we want makers to start thinking about holiday gifts, not November.
- Rotary
- The rotaries are awesome, and we want them to work well all the time on all of the machines
- we will open up rotaries today and see if we can track down any hardware issues
- going to try to get Donner running today - Tube swap
