3D Fab Members - Roles And Authorizations

Roles

Role of the Chair This has been added here to give any new or incoming Chair a starting point for the things that being the Chair of the Committee will face. Duties of the Chairman

  1. -Head Janitor: clean up the room as best as you can
  2. -Maintenance: you are if anything the second to last person to effect those machines- short of polyprinter
  3. -Record keeper: try as hard as you can to keep everything you have that is related to the machines. Records of payment and records of anything needed. This includes kiosk info, which in the future may be given to you from treasury.
  4. -Keep the conversation going: as much as I like talking I also like hearing from the committee
  5. -Purchasing: 3d fab does not have a procurement officer, one would need to go to the officers and request items.
  6. -Cheerleader: acknowledgement goes a long way - I have found that if one does get acknowledged for something even so small they will do it even better after.
  7. -Keeping everyone informed: I tend to use Discord but the incumbent can choose how they wish to communicate
  8. -Keeping everyone safe (despite themselves): its amazing how hot nozzles can get
  9. -Making the hard decisions: first and foremost you are chair, you make sure that things are how they should be, and the rules are set for everyone, not just people you like. The hardest part is enforcing these rules even if the person is someone you look to as a friend
  10. -Leadership: come to me with your problems as I hide my own…. Make sure your personal life does not effect your decisions about the room
  11. -I spy with my little eye: The chair generally gains access to the cameras. In cases of damage, theft or malfeasance the chair generally is the one that will search thru the video looking for necessary evidence to specify or recommend a penalty.
  12. -Anything else: you will get other things that you will have to do. As time goes on.
